The single biggest cause of construction stress is a budget that wasn't honest from the start. Here's how we help clients build budgets that hold up.
Categories most owners forget
- Site servicing (water, septic, hydro hookups)
- Driveway and landscaping
- Permits, design, engineering, geotech
- GST/PST and applicable closing costs
- Furnishing, window coverings, AV/IT
Always carry contingency
On new builds, we recommend a minimum 7–10% contingency. On renovations of older homes, plan for 15–20%.
